Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky will be the beneficiary of the proceeds from this annual event organized by the La Grange Main Street Program. Jordan Phillips, volunteer for the Main Street Promotions Committee, is the director of this cherished event. La Grange has experienced the loss of dear friends to Ovarian Cancer and we want to honor their memory with this event and bring more awareness to ovarian cancer. Visit oakky.org for more information regarding ovarian cancer.
During the Blue Hydrangea Tea, we take time to remember those we have lost and to rally those who are in treatment. Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky (OAK) will be on hand to provide important information in the fight against ovarian cancer.
The $15.00 ticket gives you access to sweet and savory treats along with a beverage at the participating businesses. The businesses provide these items at no charge so all the proceeds can be donated to OAK. Please consider shopping for your needs in each store.
All ticket holders will receive a vintage tea cup! These cups will be available for you to pick up at your convenience where you check in on Walnut Street.
For an additional $8.00 donation, Blooms Floral on Main Street will provide a blue hydrangea stem to be a source of comfort as you remember the loss of a friend, mother, sister, aunt, etc. You can pick up your tea cup and your blue hydrangea stem at any time during your stay on Main Street. You may want to consider picking them up at the end of your visit so your hands are free to enjoy the savory treats along the Blue Hydrangea Tea trail.
If you are currently in treatment or have ever been in treatment, be sure to go by DeHaven Baptist Church on Main Street and ring the church bell sometime during your stay. You may also find it helpful to talk with one of the community support team members on hand to gain courage for the journey.
Bring a photo of yourself (if you are a survivor or are in treatment) and a photo of a loved one you want to honor and add it to the picture frames that will be provided. We will take a photo of the displays and add them to our "Blue Hydrangea" photo collection.
There will be specialty food trucks on hand for this event.

This event was started in 2007 by Cindy Adams, a Main Street business owner who battled ovarian cancer. She wanted to raise awareness of ovarian cancer and the services offered by OAK. Sadly, she passed away in 2008. Another lady from our Main Street family, Kim Silcox, lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 2019. This is a day we remember them and others who have bravely fought for life while continuing to care for our community.
